Saturday saw two iconic GCFA teams go head to head for a place in final 32 of the Scottish Amateur Cup

It was always going to be a tough match against an opponent who we drew against last weekend in the league cup,
In truth there wasn’t much in it between both teams in a high tempo first half were both teams had chances but either never team could convert the opportunity’s they created.
To be fair their where moments of Great goalkeeping and outstanding defending which also helped keep the score line 0-0 going into the half time break.
In the second half Clydeside were slightly the better team in the opening stages and they scored a great counter attacking goal through Nugent. 1-0 Clydeside !!!

With around 20mins to go the home team were reduced to 10 men following a straight red card 🔴 by the match official.
After the red card clydeside had to go into a more rigid shape and try to see out the game whilst still posing an attacking threat.
Clydeside were saved in the final stages of the game by a combination of heroic goalkeeping unbelievable defending which stopped Psp getting that all important equaliser.

ROVING REPORTERS THOUGHTS ⬇️

All in all a very tight game between two clubs who know each other so well.
On this occasion Clydeside Athletic were the victors and this will see them progress to the latter stages of the Scottish Amateur Cup.
Commiserations to Park Sports Project who will be disappointed that they have been eliminated from the competition after performing well and not getting the breaks.
Big congratulations to Clydeside Athletic who progress in the competition and represent the GCFA in the latter stages.
