Champions Cup
Pollokshields took on Fairhill in game that started pretty even in the first fifteen minutes or so.
Fairhill has a chance to break away and tactical foul by centre back louis brought much frustration to the Fairhill management team.
The management team were not disappointed for too long as s shot at goal was parried by Rankin and JP Grant was there to tap home the loose ball. 1-0 Fairhill !!!!!!
The Pollokshields centre back Louis Smith was involved in a slight moment of controversy when he fouled the Fairhill attacker. The Fairhill sidelines were incensed it was not a 2nd booking but a talking too seemed fair in this situation.
Minutes after going ahead Fairhill were pegged back as Carney ran through on goal, his shot should have been saved by the keeper but the ball somehow found the back of the net. 1-1 !!!!!!!
Fairhill were dangerous from set pieces and another quality delivery into the box found the head of the number 6 and his header crashed off the crossbar.
The Premier League side took the lead in this cup classic. A delicious ball by Smith found Havelin and he slotted the ball to the back post for full back jonny to tap into the back of the net. 2-1 !!!!!!
Pollokshields keeper Rankin was again in good form and minutes before half time he produced a great save by down low to the left hand post.

In all honesty the first fifteen minutes of the second half were pretty uneventful with nothing really happening.
A hopeful long ball caught out the Pollokshields defence and JP Grant produced a great finish to beat Rankin and level the score lines. 2-2 !!!!!!
Pollokshields then had goalkeeper murray to than when he produced a stunning save to keep things level.
The biggest moment of the match was upon us and on around 65 minutes Fairhill were awarded a penalty, In all honesty it looked like the boy fell over when trying to shoot. This seemed an extremely harsh decision. The Keenan McVey stepped up and beat the keeper with a great penalty. 3-2 Fairhill !!!!
Pollokshields were left stunned from the penalty kick award and seemed to loose concentration, Fairhill took full advantage and when a poor clearance from Shields led to JP Grant slotting the ball home from the edge of the box. 4-2 fairhill !!!!!!
The premier League side tried to get back into the match when substitute grant beat two men and crossed for Carney who could only fire his shot over the bar.
As Pollokshields tried to fling the kitchen sink at Fairhill they got caught by the quick counter attack and punished as Fairhill scored a 5th goal and Keenan McVey scored his second goal to seal the game. 5-2 Fairhill !!!!!
Pollokshields keeper Murray Rankin was in great form and yet again he produced another top stop to stop Fairhill scoring a 6th.
Rankin was powerless to stop an absolute wonder goal, Anthony Bates beat three Shields defenders before rounding the keeper and tapping home. even the pollokshields bench clapped that stunning goal. 6-2 Fairhill!!!!
Pollokshields were absolutely dejected at this point and yet again they gave too much time to a fairhill player Kieran McAvoy who produced a stunning chip to finish the game and end the scoring. 7-2 Fairhill !!!!!!!
