REFEREE OF THE WEEK

As usual when deciding who is top of the pile it’s really hard to pick a winner and this week was no different to be honest.

One candidate who did separate himself from the rest is a man well known to ourselves and man with a fantastic reputation for being a great referee and a top man also.

David Somers has been named the Referee Of the Week For his performance in the Croftpark versus Southside United match up.

The game was an intense tussle to start of with and Somers made sure he was always in the right position to get the big calls correct.

David has always been held in high regard by the GCFA committee and the teams he referees. Saturday’s match was no different for Mr Somers as he officiated the game to a very high standard.

After the game we received some very positive feedback on the performance from match official David Somers from a spectator who watched the game.

having someone of David’s experience truly makes our football league a much better place to play football.

David has been an established Referee in the GCFA for many years and is one of the first referees to be called on when the big games come around.
