Robert full time scores season starts

And so it all begins, season 24/25 is upon us.

An early start for game 1 as Yoker Athletic host Glenvale at at Holm Park on Saturday 29th July with a 9.30am.kock off.

A new look Yoker side took the field with a fairly unrecognizable squad from last season, this may be due to players on holiday or players moving on.

Yoker started well and took the lead after 19mins, the lead lasted about 10 minutes before the away side levelled the scores, shortly before halftime the hone side took the lead and that was how it was at the break.

About 30 seconds into second half Yoker added a third, by the hour mark the home side had added two more goals to lead 5-1, both side should good attacking prowess in the last half hour of the game, but could add to the scoreline, the match finished

Onto match 2 it’s a trip to Donald Dewar to watch newly promoted Drumchapel Utd against Afroscots United of the Scottish Unity League.

Thus was the first time I had attended a match that was played over 3 thirty minute halves.

Drumchapel included a few new signings for this match including Argyle McCoist, son of Rsngers legend Ally, and a debut for Nacho Novo as part of the coaching staff.

The first thirty minutes was fairly evemand was won by Drumchapel 1-0, the second thirty was fairly close too with both teams cresting chances,, Drumchapel added another goal to lead 2-0 after 60 minutes.

The final 30 minutes saw Drumchapel score a further three goals to run out 5-0 winners, although a spirited performance from Afroscots saw them.create chances, but were unable to breach Drumchapels last line of defence.
