Over the coming months as our roving reporter becomes more mobile and gets out & about more we will look at the phenomenon of ground hopping & what are the reasons behind no matter where they go watching a football match is high on the list.
They will look at what tools etc are available to support ground hoppers & football lovers looking to watch a fixture.
Bristol
One of our roving reporters was in Bristol recently and as always went looking for local fixture to take in.
This look for a football match includes everything from grass roots right up to closest professional club and since Roving reporter been to both Bristol clubs before on their regular visits to Bristol they are always normally bottom of the list.
Here is what their week involved
Wednesday
Higher league Western super mare finally got goal in 85th minute followed up with 2nd on 90th minute to settle a close well thought semi final lacking any real quality in final 3rd by both sides.
Unfortunately this game will be remembered mostly for Sat nav sending me to road next to ground separated by fence rather than car park and then in 70th min a tackle which resulted in Clevedon forward claiming for a penalty after one on one with keeper and I wasn’t only one in ground who felt bit of a dive yet as play carried on forward kept banging ground as if in some pain and when play finally stopped and trainer called on player took off on stretcher with suspected broken leg
Friday.

With access to daughters car the options open to me where quite good and I didn’t need to set my radius for fixtures anymore than 15km.
What it did make me think about is why watching a game no matter where I travel is so important to me/us so hopefully over a busy football year I get to share the hopefully many games & grounds I get to watch
