Following the conclusion of the 2023-24 season, the club today announces that a decision has been taken to withdraw our reapplication for membership of the Scottish Amateur Football Association and Scottish Premier AFA for the new season. The club has taken the unfortunate decision to disband.

This has not been a decision that has been taken lightly, but it seems to be a natural conclusion, given how the recent weeks have unfolded and the projected direction of travel.

The dream ending was for the club to win it’s 7th trophy in just over three years, but congratulations to Steins Thistle for their M&M Trophy lift in the final at Ochilview on Tuesday night. It should be noted that the decision announced today was not dependant on the outcome of Tuesday’s final.

The club is aware of players who have already agreed or are looking to join West of Scotland Football League teams and we wish them well on their new adventures.

There is still a talented group of players over and above this, but the challenges of rebuilding a committed squad over a sustained period seem to be too great. To this end, we will support the rest of the players in their search to find new clubs, if they wish to continue playing – either at Amateur level or with teams in the West of Scotland Football League.

Thank you to everyone involved initially in the SAFL and laterly, the SPAFA for their organisation and opportunities to play against some of the best teams at Amateur level.

Thank you to the wider club at Arthurlie FC for embracing the idea of affiliating an Amateur side and for their unwavering support over the past three or so years.

Thank you to all players past and present for their efforts in the sky blue and white – many of whom will have many fond memories of their time at Arthurlie.
