ONE BIG RESULT
Lots of games to choose from this week with plenty of domestic dust ups on the fixture calendar see below ⬇️
One result stood out to us above most others on Sunday and this was a standout result for the team and for the future of the division.
Im not sure the Roving Reporter or anyone to be honest saw a result like this one coming.
Pollokshields United produced a stunning performance on Sunday which left Maryhill Blackstar absolutely stunned.
A superb performance from Pollokshields see’s them put the league leaders Maryhill Blackstar to the sword. One of the Premier Division title favourites fell to the Glasgow southside team in this all important league encounter.
THE BIG ONE
Pollokshields have had a slow start in their league campaign over the early months of the new season. The club admittedly produced too many draws but they are now turning those draws into victories and moving up the gdsfc premiership league table.

Shields outstanding at Stepford!!

The shields went into this game optimistic After a couple of good wins in the last few weeks.
Today’s bug game was also a chance to test themselves against a good team who are sitting at the top of the league.
The match started at a good tempo with both teams battling for control of the ball.
After a few half chances for either team shields managed to find the break through mid way through the first half when a lobbed threw ball from Louie found dec who chased it and managed to get the better of the 50/50 with the goaly to slot home. 1-0 Shields !!!
Pollokshields were managing to win most of their one on one battles and limit Maryhill black star to very little goal mouth opportunities for the remainder of the first half.
HT – Blackstar 0 Shields 1
The Second half began with black star flinging more bodies forward in an attempt to get themselves back into the game.
The away side then had a couple of great chances to double their lead through Sean havelin with two great saves from the Blackstar keeper ensuring his team were still in the match.
Eventually the second goal came from a good save from the keeper from Sean’s strike but Dec McCafferty was there to follow up the rebound. 2-0 Shields !!!!!
The third goal came from Marco Edwards cutting the ball back to new signing myky who kept his shot low and it beat the blackstar keeper giving him no chance. 3-0 Shields !!!
Pollokshields were in full flow and the fourth goal came through great delivery from the inspirational Mccafferty who’s free kick out wide found waqaas who headed home from close range. 4-0 Shields !!!
the away side finished the scoring when they added a fifth goal. Central defender Waqaas scored his third goal in two games. The big defender produced another great finish from after his defensive partner suki flicked the ball on and he volleyed the ball high into the net giving the keeper no chance. 5-0 Shields !!!
There was many contenders for man of the match as all the players had raised their game. But todays award goes to myky after all his running and was unlucky not to score 3 today, one ruled out offside, hitting the bar from 25 yards and then getting his first goal for shields 🙌🙌
