Paul Wilson
Todholm AFC
We spoke to Todholm manager Paul Wilson after their excellent result at weekend over a dogged Lomond Thistle side who refused to be beaten & only an excellent goal in last 10 mins sealing the win

Paul is 36 & was team goalkeeper and captain until 7 years ago
Paul took over the team becoming manager after manager left and set about rebuilting team
During Paul’s time in charge Todholm won league during covid, then back to back doubles last 2 seasons
Another big achievement was Todholm unbeaten in league 23/24 season
We asked Paul about Todholm season so far
we have done well to recruit and still putting a challenge in as i lost 5 starters the week before the season started
Expectations were a league challenge and getting into national later rounds
Looking to rest of season I would like to get a new winger and CB in to help us charge on as been riddled with injuries all season so chopping and changing week on week
Some good teams in GDSFC Premiership but hardest games this season has probably been both against lomond as hard team to play against
Player of season so far would probably be Mark Ruddy (6 on sunday) or Mark Pearson as captain
So what do you think are current realistic targets for Todholm?
we hope to win the remaining 3 trophies a big ask but not impossible
The league is a 3 horse race between us Castlemilk and Milan I’d say
In Championship cup we have Budhill or North
You are now in quarter final of the Sunday West of scotland cup
yeah drawn against Blantyre Utd
We got a by in 1st round, beat renfrew 9-0, beat Glasgow saints 6-1 and onto Blantyre which will be our 1st tough game
I know nothing about them so going in blank unfortunately
We have a good squad for Sundays tie, missing 5 of usual starting 11 but have a big squad for this reasons
Tactics will remain the same as always we don’t change unless really have to

Blantyre Utd currently sit 2nd in Airdrie and Coatbridge Sunday AFL Premier division
Out roving reporter has seen your team 4 times this season and it seems you have lost a lot of weight?
I have lost 5 stone since the 18th November and will continue to do so😂

Our GDSFC roving reporter is working on a feature where he considers what players deserve to be considered for this seasons GDSFC league select team.
From the 4 Todholm games our roving reporter has watched he has picked out 3 Todholm players Decy Harvey, Alan Dunlop, Mark Ruddy who have impressed him

Paul feels Alan Dunlop, Mark Pearson & Jordan Foster are players who could be considered for select team as having superb seasons

We would like to thank paul for taking time to answer our questions and wish his team good luck in West of Scotland tie this Sunday.
Having watched Todholm 4 times now they are serious title challengers especially, after Castlemilk shock defeat last Sunday..
Sunday against Lomond with late winner against a strong Lomond team who came back from 3-1 down at half time was one of those games eventual champions could look back on as crucial 3pts
